Contribute to Erin's New Wheelchair Accessible Van

My name is Teresa Reynolds, and I am trying to raise money to assist my friend Wanda in getting a new wheelchair-modified accessible van for her daughter, Erin. Erin is a 31 year old young lady who was born at 29 weeks, weighing 2 lbs. 5 oz. Erin's life has been both blessed and challenging. Although Erin survived her birth, she was later diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of eight months.

Erin has survived 29 surgeries throughout her life including two recent surgeries. Erin is not one to complain, but when it comes to her powered wheelchair, it's her lifeline. A van is her only means of transportation, which allows her to continue to be involved in community outings, church, and other social events. Most importantly, Erin's modified van enables her to travel to her multiple doctors visits per week. Erin's medical appointments require her to travel to New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware

The van Erin's currently own is 12 years old and has been breaking down. Unfortunately, it has broken down three times with Erin in it. When the van breaks down, it is a nightmare for both Erin and her mother. Her mom has to find a way to transport Erin home without her wheelchair. She then has to have the van towed to their home to obtain Erin's wheelchair out the van and finally have the van towed to the dealer for repairs. Repairing the van is costly. Each repair cost up to $2,000. Unfortunately, given the age and condition of the van, the mechanic has told her mom that the parts are getting difficult to find, and when he gets them, they are very expensive.

At this point, in order to have a life outside of her house and, most importantly, travel to her doctor's appointments, which means a new, modified wheelchair accessible van. The total cost of new van is approximately $95,000. Any additional funds will be used to pay for the insurance that is needed for the vehicle. Her mother does not have the funds or the resources to purchase a new van.

Erin and her mom needs our help! The goal is achievable. Think about it. If 1,000 people give $100, we will have raised our goal of $100,000. However, any contribution amount is welcomed. Whatever amount you can contribute to assist Erin and her mom in obtaining a new, modified wheelchair accessible van so Erin can have the transportation necessary to live her life and travel to all her numerous weekly essential doctor's appointments will be greatly appreciated.
