Donate for Edwin Mbaziira's Vision and Recovery

Hi, It's Becky Coleman and Jenn & Bryan Pickett, writing on behalf of our dear friend, Edwin Mbaziira. While visiting us this June, Edwin began to experience eye difficulties that resulted in him seeking medical attention, where it was discovered that Edwin is suffering from a detached retina in one eye, and glaucoma in both eyes. It was recommended that he receive emergency surgery, at which time Edwin decided to return immediately to Uganda to be near his family. He plans to seek immediate medical care upon returning to Uganda, and has insurance that is expected to cover a portion of the much needed treatment and after care. We anticipate the cost of his care to exceed insurance coverage, and as such, are requesting support from his many friends and contacts. We are hoping to raise approximately $9000 USD for Edwin's medical care/ treatment.

100% of funds received from this drive will be managed by the organizers in Michigan, USA, and will be dispersed to Edwin. Additionally, any excess funds received will be donated to FOLII, a non-profit in Kampala, Uganda (https://folii-uganda.org/). The organization focuses on social reforms, tackling gender-based violence, and empowering women, aiming for a future of peace and self-advocacy.
