Donate for Dewey

My name is Abby and I am organizing this fundraiser for my sister (Maddie) and her boyfriend (Chase)’s dog, Dewey. Please see their message below:

On Wednesday at 4:30pm, our beloved 6 month old puppy Dewey had an emergency choking accident. For the next several hours he wasn’t able to keep any food or water down and was having difficulty breathing and was in visible pain. He was taken to the vet around 9:30pm where they completed full labs and X-rays and determined he had an esophageal blockage.

Dewey stayed the night in the vet hospital and was referred to a specialist in Portland for an emergency endoscopy to remove the foreign object on Thursday morning. The procedure was quoted at $4000, on top of the $1500 cost for the overnight vet stay Wednesday night. 

Dewey is our shared dog together and is like a child to us. Dewey needs our help right now and we are willing to do whatever it takes to get him healthy again. We acknowledge these are difficult times for everyone and thank you for your kindness and support. — Maddie & Chase

Maddie and Chase are both students. Maddie is in her 3rd year of her doctoral pharmacy program at OHSU and spends most weekends working in the community pharmacy. Chase is in his 3rd year of an electrical apprenticeship and takes night classes in Salem twice per week on top of working full time.
