Donate for Dave's Stroke Rehabilitation and Care
Donation protected
On Saturday, March 15th Dave, my dear sweet husband, suffered an Ischematic stroke on the right side of his cerebellum which is connected to the spinal cord.
He has undergone many tests to determine besides the risk factors what could have caused the stroke.
After 2 types of echocardiogram tests they found he has a hole in his heart that will need to be repaired and they'll do that as an outpatient procedure at the end of his rehab.
He has had some really tough days with nausea and vomiting, this is all under control now and he is able to eat solid foods again, thank the lord.
His blood sugars were very high at times and his blood pressure was a concern but they kept up on that as well.
He did develop pneumonia and was on antibiotics for several days. He uses a spirometer to do breathing exercises.
He is doing so much better and more and more like himself everyday now.
He still has a long road ahead of him with rehabilitation. He'll be moving to Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital either today or tomorrow. We're not sure how long he'll be there but for now we know it could be 2 - 6 weeks, maybe longer. It depends on how he progresses.
Prayers and donations in any amount are greatly appreciated.
