Chuck, my light...
Someone suggested I tell you a little about my boy Chuck.
Chuck is our 5-year-old Great Dane/Lab mix and unfortunately he has been diagnosed with B cell lymphoma, cancer.
Chuck is my best friend...my companion. He is my rock.
I wanted to give you some background on him.
I don't like to use the word "favorite" because I have 3 other dogs and I love them dearly, but with Chuck it's different, he is special to me.
When I found him at the Fulton County pound he picked me...HE picked ME. Do you know what that feels like? The immediate connection? It is unexplainable but wonderful.
I knew some people that worked there at the time and they told me that any time I left he cried for me for 20 to 30 minutes EVERY time. The paperwork I submitted to get him got messed up and someone else almost adopted him. I was mad and sad at the same time. I went straight to the pound after getting their email that somebody else had been approved for him even though I had turned in my foster to forever paperwork days before he went up for adoption. When I got there, after a discussion with the manager they found my paperwork day-to-days earlier so I paid for him and he became my baby boy.
I truly feel like God had a hand in us finding each other and being a family because although I can not explain it, we have a very special bond with each other that I have not had with any other animal. He's my companion and goes EVERYWHERE with me that doesn't require him to be a service dog to go.
At home all of the dogs sleep with me most nights but when Chuck decides to sleep on the couch for a bit after I go to bed, I either don't sleep well till he comes and gets in bed or I end up on the couch or floor with him so that I can actually sleep.
Best friend and companion doesn't begin to cover what he means to me but it's the only way I know how to explain it.
He's my protector...
amazing with my girlfriend...
and with kids.
He's a wonderful brother to his siblings...
and just makes everyone smile...
I just love him so much...
he's the best thing I've had in my life...
He has given me and my family such joy and happiness. I want to give back to him and give him a chance to live.....but I need your help. I am currently on disability and I can not afford his treatment without you and generosity.
The estimate the vet gave us for his chemo was $6,000. Unfortunately, we have no where near that kind of money so we decided to try a fundraiser and hopefully we could come up with enough money to get his chemotherapy started.
I am asking, we, my family are asking if you could please donate something, anything, no donation is too small.
And please share to your family, friends, co-workers and ask that they share as well.
They say it takes a village and I know that's true so again please help me to help Chuck. He's only 5 yrs old and Chuck deserves a chance to live.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and prayers from the bottom of my heart.
