My name is Elma Castillo. I am organizing this fundraiser for my beloved sister, Carmen Yolanda Landeros who passed away on April 4, 2022. Carmen was one of the most selfless people I knew. She never married and dedicated her life to helping raise my two children Xiomara and Carlos.

Carmen was born and raised in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico. She loved her hometown and always loved sharing stories of her youth walking with her friends around the plaza, going to church, and spending time with her cousins.

When she moved in with my family in California, she worked hard in anything that could help her improve. She eventually obtained her cosmetology license and worked as a stylist for over 25 years. She loved her work and she loved her clients.

Unfortunately Carmen suffered a stroke in 2014 and was unable to work ever since. Because of her stroke her only income was her social security benefits. It’s for that reason that I am organizing this fundraiser. I would like to give her the memorial that she deserves and your help can make that wish become a reality.
