I am writing to respectfully seek your support in raising £5,000 to assist my close friend, Bridget, with the cost of urgently needed radiotherapy treatment following her recent diagnosis of stage 2a cervical cancer.

I first met Bridget in the autumn of 2023 while working as a teacher in Nairobi,Kenya. Over time, I came to know her as a woman of exceptional strength, dignity and faith. Bridget has endured a profound personal tragedy. In 2020 while eight months pregnant with twins, she lost her fiancée in a fatal car accident. The trauma of this devastating event led to premature labour. Although she delivered her twin babies, both sadly died due to complications in the weeks that followed. Despite these unimaginable losses, Bridget has continued to face life with remarkable courage, resilience and humility.

Recently, Bridget was diagnosed with stage 2a cervical cancer. She has commenced chemotherapy, however, her medical team has strongly recommended a combined treatment plan that includes radiotherapy to significantly improve her prognosis and chances of recovery. Unfortunately the cost of radiotherapy is far beyond what she and her family have been able to raise. The financial burden of cancer treatment within the Kenyan healthcare system is considerable, and insurance coverage remains limited.

Bridget is a gentle, deeply faithful and selfless individual who has never sought assistance despite the immense challenges she has faced. It is therefore with great sincerity and hope that my mother and I are appealing on her behalf.

We are seeking to raise £5,000 to enable her to access the recommended course of radiotherapy without delay. Any contribution, regardless of the amount would be profoundly appreciated and will go directly towards funding her medical treatment.
