Donate to help cover brain tumor surgery expenses

Hi, my name is Fernando Alicea. Im creating this fundraiser to help me cover expenses related to my brain surgery that is scheduled for April 7th, 2023. For some time I've been experiencing symptoms described by my neurologist as paraesthesia. These symptoms will come and go and last for a few seconds. I will feel numbness on the right side of my nose, sinus, and throat, have difficulty pronouncing words, and experience numbness in my right hand. After a few episodes of these symptoms, I decided to go and get some help. I had an MRI on February 23, 2023. The impression on the images showed that I have a tumor on my left frontal lobe which is described as oligodendroglioma. This type of tumor is very rare its located on the surface of the brain but in a location that affects the eloquent areas of the brain such as producing and understanding speech and language. Fortunately, I found a good neurosurgeon at UCLA, at least 80% of the tumor can be removed but it's a very delicate surgery that may or may not affect my ability to speak for at least a few weeks after surgery. At this time we do not know if the tumor is a grade II (relatively benign) or grade III (malignant or cancerous). The biopsy will be done weeks after the surgery and we will proceed with observation and other treatment if needed. Due to the nature of this surgery, the time to recover is very extensive it will require me not to be able to work or do any physical activity for at least 8 weeks. Any donations will be used for medical bills, bills in general, rent, food, and utilities. I've never in my wildest dream thought of going through something like this. I don't know what having surgery is like and nonetheless how is a recovery from surgery. I humbly ask for any help so I can recover fast from the surgery and keep my mental and physical strength to face any further stages of the treatment.
