Help Me With Bijoux
Hi friends,
I’m reaching out because our sweet little Bijoux needs dental surgery again. Some of you know he’s already had this done twice before, and unfortunately his mouth is flaring up again due to moderate/severe periodontal disease.
Since January I’ve been trying to manage it at home — brushing, herbs, natural antibiotics, dental probiotics, special diets, and a number of specialized dental care products — but it’s clear now that it hasn’t been enough. He’s in pain, the infections have gotten worse , and at this point he needs extractions and a full cleaning under anesthesia.
The procedure will be done at Anicira Veterinary Center of San Diego, a not-for-profit surgical hospital. The total cost will depend on how many teeth need to come out, but right now it looks like at least four. The full estimate, including anesthesia, intubation, blood work, extractions, and site cleaning, comes to between $1,200 and $1,500 out of pocket, after insurance.
Cost Breakdown
Here’s what the surgery estimate includes:
• $800 – Anesthesia, intubation, and dental cleaning
• $300 – Pre-op blood work (required before surgery)
• $350–$1000 – Tooth extractions (depends on how many need to be removed and how complex they are)
The total is capped at a maximum of $1,800.
These procedures are expensive, and I’ve managed to cover them twice before on my own. But with how tough things have been financially lately, I can’t carry it this time without help.
I’ll need to pay upfront, so my hope is to continue to raise funds up until his surgery on September 23rd.
Bijoux is my heart. I really appreciate any support — whether it’s helping financially, sharing this with others, or just sending us love. Thank you for being part of his little circle of care.
With gratitude,
Alex & Bijoux
