Weeks ago, we brought my mother's nine year old dog Benny to the vet for a limp- not putting as much weight on his front right paw.
The vet felt something abnormal in Benny's upper leg, and an x-ray confirmed a tumor was present.
After consulting with an oncologist, it was decided that we would try to pursue amputation with a chemo after, that tends to be well-tolerated. Benny still smiles, licks, wags his tail and can use the bathroom normally. He has an appetite and pulls towards the car for car rides. But the tumor causes him pain, and it is heartbreaking to hear him cry if he moves the wrong way. Benny has shown us he still has a lot of life to live, and amputation will mean some pain free time with him. How much time is unknown, as cancer can return. Tuft's is covering part of the cost due to use taking a chance on an experimental treatment that has had virtually no ill effects in their patients. However, the cost is still very high.
Will you please consider donating towards Benny's vet costs? I am not asking for the full amount- ANY help is so greatly appreciated.
