Today, Basil and her family need your support—not just good vibes (but pls send those!)—financial help.
On July 14, Basil underwent emergency gastrectomy, which cost $5,890. The previous day, her imaging cost $1,323 to determine what was going on. She had ingested a foreign, non-food object that needed immediate removal.
And today? She’s under the weather again. Her adoptive parents Alex and Matt faced another bill between $780 and $2,000--without knowing how they'd pay for it. They want to get the best care for Basil, but their financial resources are dwindling with every invoice.
We initially went to social media with this plea, and our community of dog-lovers raised $657 on July 16 (this amount has been added to the GFM as offline donations)! We are so grateful for this support. Basil may need a recheck or additional meds, so we are broadening our audience and hoping you might be willing to spare a few dollars to help this sweet girl.
In June 2024, Basil (fka Hazel) was saved from the PG County euthanasia list by P3 Rescue. She was in foster care for five months with AP before transitioning to her forever home with adopters Alex and Matt. She’s made incredible progress on her separation anxiety and has truly blossomed in their care. She's a girl who loves cheese, cuddles, cats, and chasing squirrels.
Thank you for helping our girl Basil!
