Donate for basic studying material for children in Zanzibar

I'm Mark Koba, and I started the Elimu Initiative (elimu is a Swahili word for education) to help students in underserved communities stay in school and feel confident while learning. Through this fundraiser, we’re focusing on a simple yet powerful goal: to provide school materials, socks, and uniforms to students who need them most.

What We’re Raising Funds For:
Study materials: notebooks, pens, pencils, and textbooks

Socks and shoes: essential for hygiene, comfort, and school dress codes

School uniforms: to promote equality, confidence, and belonging

These items might seem small—but they make a huge difference in a child’s ability to attend school consistently, feel included, and focus on their education without shame or stigma.

Why It Matters:
In the communities we serve, families often have to choose between food and school clothes. Some students wear torn uniforms or go barefoot. Others miss school simply because they can’t afford a notebook. No child should miss out on education for such basic needs.

Your donation will go directly toward supplying these essentials so that every child can walk into class with confidence, dignity, and the tools to succeed.

How You Can Help:
Donate what you can – even a few dollars can buy a full set of supplies.

Share this campaign with friends, family, or on social media.

Support our mission of equal opportunity through education.

Together, we can remove small barriers that make a big impact—and ensure that every child has the chance to learn, grow, and thrive.

Thank you for standing with us.
