A few weeks ago on July 2, sweet baby girl Evangeline “Evie” Sullivan entered the world! Over these last few weeks, baby Evie has faced more health challenges than most adults will face in their lifetime. After being lifeflighted to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a definitive diagnosis of congenital lobar emphysema was made! Evie has experienced respiratory acidosis, spontaneous pneumothorax, and periods of apnea (she quits breathing) due to her diagnosis! Friday, July 26, 2024, Evie went into surgery around 08:30am to have apart of her lung removed in hopes this will allow her to breath on her own & continue to grow as a healthy baby girl should! As of 12:02pm, she was out of surgery & it went smoothly! She now has a chest tube by her incision site & has weaned down on her oxygen requirement as of Saturday, July 27th! The surgeon stated her left upper lobe that he removed was 2-3 times the size as it should be & was deviating her other organs! Both of baby Evie’s parents, Nisa & Kenny, are the kindest humans you could ever have the privilege of meeting. They are loving parents rooted in their Faith, who have another daughter that is 3 years old & are caring for during Evie’s hospital stay! With this being said, I ask if you can give anything during this time to help with the finances that comes with this, it would be greatly appreciated! Nisa & Kenny both work full time, as Nisa is a registered nurse & still on maternity leave from having Evie! With hospital stay, cost of living being out of state currently, & past/future medical bills that will accrue; anything to take some stress of their plate would be so kind! Prayers for Baby Evie’s recovery are so greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!
