My name is Dwight Alexander and this is my seventeen year old son, Anzic. Anzic was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a child and has had to endure multiple challenges that come with having cerebral palsy. Yet, he is always full of joy and loves to share his joy with others. Unfortunately, the older he gets, the more serious his health conditions become.
We left our home, the small island nation of Palau, and arrived in Hawaii on January 1, 2024. Anzic was supposed to undergo a spinal surgery to treat his severe scoliosis. However, he had other health conditions that needed to be treated and there was much to be done to prepare him for the surgery. Due to his low immune system, he kept getting infections during the course of the treatment and we were finally advised to seek other treatments to build his immune system. This would give him a better chance in fighting bacteria and infections without relying too heavily on antibiotics. Hopefully, this will enable him to have the much-needed back surgery. We have since been discharged from Shriner’s Hospital to seek these other treatments.
Anzic needs a Primary Care Physician (PCP), and he needs to see a neurologist, a dermatologist, a urologist, a dietician and a speech therapist. A wheelchair van is essential in bringing him to all his appointments and to school where he can have speech therapist. So we are fundraising to purchase a wheelchair van so he can continue his treatments in preparation for possible surgery in two years. Otherwise, his scoliosis will remain severe for the rest of his life.
I would sincerely appreciate your help and support on this endeavor for the health of my son, Anzic.
Any support you give would be truly and greatly appreciated. Sulang and thank you!
