Hello,

As some may or may not know, our beloved Alejandra (Ala) has been receiving intensive medical support in the intensive care unit (ICU) for the last few days. She had a planned knee surgery to address a case of Pigmented Villonodular Synovitis (a rare 1.8 in a million non-cancerous tumor), but things didn’t go as planned. Alejandra’s knee surgery went well, but her heath was quickly compromised and she was transferred to the ICU due to receiving a sepsis infection. Medical providers are still working on identifying the type of infection she may have, but so far have shared that it’s in her bloodstream and it has aggressively been impacting her organs. Alejandra continues to be medically chronic, but is stabilized for the time being.

We are extremely thankful to all those who have continuously prayed for Alejandra and wished her good thoughts - she has an army of prayer warriors along her side. We cannot be more grateful for our community of brothers and sisters uniting with us in these difficult moments. Alejandra is a gracious individual that has impacted many people. She is a daughter, sister, educator, leader, advocate, and more than anything a faithful friend to those around her. We have felt all her intersectional communities come together to provide us, her family, so much love in return and cannot be more thankful.

Many have asked how to support Alejandra from afar, as we are currently located in Mexico. At this time, with uncertainty in her level of need and time for treatment, we have decided to open up this account to those who would like to support. We are hopeful she’ll recuperate soon, but are unsure of how things will proceed. Thank you to everyone for the continuous prayers - they are more than we could ever ask for. We continue to be faithful and know that God has a greater purpose for these times.

Como algunos sabrán, nuestra querida Alejandra (Ala) ha estado recibiendo atención médica intensiva en la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI) durante los últimos días. Se le programó una cirugía de rodilla para tratar un caso de Sinovitis Villonodular Pigmentada (un tumor benigno poco común que se presenta en 1.8 casos por millón), pero las cosas no salieron como estaba previsto. La cirugía de rodilla de Alejandra salió bien, pero su salud se vio rápidamente comprometida y fue trasladada a la UCI debido a una infección por sepsis. Los médicos aún están trabajando para identificar el tipo de infección que pueda tener, pero hasta el momento han informado que está en su torrente sanguíneo y ha estado afectando agresivamente sus órganos. Alejandra continúa con una condición médica crónica, pero por el momento se encuentra estabilizada.

Estamos sumamente agradecidos con todos aquellos que han orado continuamente por Alejandra y le han deseado buenos deseos; tiene un ejército de guerreros de oración a su lado. No podemos estar más agradecidos con nuestra comunidad de hermanos y hermanas que nos acompañan en estos momentos difíciles. Alejandra es una persona amable que ha impactado a muchas personas. Es hija, hermana, educadora, líder, defensora y, sobre todo, una fiel amiga para quienes la rodean. Hemos sentido a todas sus comunidades unidas para brindarnos a nosotros, su familia, tanto amor a cambio, y no podemos estar más agradecidos.

Muchos nos han preguntado cómo apoyar a Alejandra desde la distancia, ya que actualmente nos encontramos en México. En este momento, ante la incertidumbre sobre su nivel de necesidad y el tiempo de su tratamiento, hemos decidido abrir esta cuenta a quienes deseen apoyarla. Esperamos que se recupere pronto, pero no estamos seguros de cómo continuará la situación. Gracias a todos por sus continuas oraciones; son más de lo que podríamos pedir. Seguimos siendo fieles y sabemos que Dios tiene un propósito mayor para estos momentos.
