Endometriosis Journey and Upcoming Life-Changing Surgery
For 18 years, Avrie has been living with endometriosis—a chronic and painful disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. This condition can cause severe pelvic pain and often impacts fertility. Endometriosis can begin with a person's first menstrual cycle and persist until menopause.
On April 23, 2024, she underwent emergency surgery in Jamaica to save her life. Now, a long-awaited and potentially life-changing surgery is scheduled for September 3, 2025, at OU in Oklahoma. While visiting a relative in Oklahoma, she was referred to a specialist gynecologist, who will now perform the much-needed procedure.
Funds raised will help cover all necessary medical expenses, including pre-op and post-operative appointments, imaging scans, lab tests, and blood work.
