After years of trying I am finally replacing my 15 year old wheelchair that I outgrew years ago. My chair has been falling apart for years to the point I have avoided using it because it's destroying my shoulders to the point of needing physical therapy. Due to being made when I was fully atrophied it destroys my pants from being too small for me now. The front wheel catches on the footplate. One of the wheels is missing 1/3rd of the bearings. The cushion for the seat popped and hardened ages ago.
My new wheelchair will alleviate all of these problems. It will fit me right, put less strain on my shoulders, allow me to get outside more again, and stop ruining anything I wear. How ever my insurance only covers 20% of the cost which is a significant amount, especially on fixed income. I am hoping to avoid further debts for medical care and equipment.
