Donate Copies of MAUS to McMinn County libraries
Donation protected
I was never much of a reader but MAUS was by a wide margin the most moving book I read in high school. It is a travesty that it should be denied from any young adult who wants to read it.
McMinn County School Board banned this book because it used the phrase “God damn” and portrayed a Holocaust survivor as a victim. It’s outrageous. It’s anti-Semitic. It’s unacceptable.
I called the E.G. Fisher Public Library in Athens TN, the heart of McMinn County and found there is a long waitlist to read one of the limited copies that they have available. They informed me they would LOVE if I donated my copy.
I would like to donate as many copies of MAUS I and II as we can source and afford to libraries in McMinn County and beyond. I already have ten copies of each ordered through Amazon.
