Hello family, friends and community . It's me, Molly.
I'd like to start off by humbly thanking you for taking the time to read my story. Sharing this and asking for help is the hardest thing for me to do, but my situation has escalated, I’m facing significant health risks and realize I cannot do this on my own.
Approximately 2 years ago, the doctors discovered a deep lobe tumor in my right Parotid gland which are the glands that produce your saliva. Since my Parotid disease diagnosis, I’ve also developed Sialolithiasis, which are salivary stones in both glands. Now there is a rumor forming in my left perotid gland.
Due to the progression of my condition over the last 2wo years, my glands have stopped functioning and are no longer producing any saliva. In addition to the increasing health risks, as you might imagine, this is painful and makes daily life challenging.
After seeing multiple doctors, the consensus is, the only option is to have a Deep Lobe Double Parotidectomy to remove both glands.
Fortunately, I was referred to one of the top specialists for the surgery, however, he does not take insurance, so it will be 100% out of pocket.
Parotoid surgery requires an exceptionally high level of surgical skill for a very important reason; the facial nerve runs right through the parotid gland. So, it is imperative to have a doctor well versed in this surgery. In fact the surgery is so complex it requires (2) specialists and is 7-9 hours in duration.
I have included links with a more detailed explanation about my condition and the surgery below.
This has been a tumultuous Two years. It has been a daily struggle and at times has kept me from the things I love, like making my clients beautiful. Having some sense of normalcy back would be an absolute dream.
I find joy in caring for others, so asking for others to help care for me is one of the most difficult things for me to do. Anything you can contribute to support me on this journey would be greatly appreciated. If you feel so inclined to share my story, I’d be incredibly grateful for that as well.
Last, but not least, a special thank you to my client who told me to reach out to my loved ones and community. My work gives me purpose, that I love so very much, thank you for reminding me I’m not in this alone.
