Donate and Support Adam's Battle Against Rare Leukodystrophy
Donation protected
Adam is a 10 year old boy suffering from a rare and severe neurological disease called Leukodystrophy.
Required treatment:
5 advanced biological injections, administered to the arms, legs, and back.
Each injection costs around $4,000 Canadian Dollars.
Total cost: $20,000 CAD
So far, we've managed to secure the cost of 2 injections.
We still need 3 more = 12,000 CAD, and we need them as soon as possible.
Why are we launching a fundraising campaign?
Because this treatment is not available in Jordan and is far beyond what his parents can afford as a humble family.
Every single day of delay puts Adam’s life and abilities at greater risk.
His parents have done everything they could — sold what they have, borrowed, and knocked on every door.
Now, our only hope after God lies in the hearts of kind people who can help save a suffering child.
Adam is not just a number… Adam is a soul fading away little by little.
Be the reason he gets his life and hope back.
Detailed Explanation of Adam’s Condition (Leukodystrophy)
This condition affects the central nervous system, caused by a genetic mutation that leads to the breakdown or abnormal development of the white matter in the brain and spinal cord.
What is white matter?
White matter is composed of nerve fibers that are coated with a fatty substance called myelin, which acts as insulation and enables fast and efficient transmission of nerve signals between the brain and the body.
In Adam’s case, what’s happening?
The myelin in Adam’s brain is being progressively destroyed or is malfunctioning. As the damage increases, communication between the brain and body weakens, leading to a wide range of symptoms that worsen over time.
Current symptoms in Adam’s case:
Walking difficulties: His steps are unsteady and clumsy, and he appears as if he could fall at any moment.
Loss of balance: Even while sitting or standing, he struggles to stay stable and sometimes collapses.
Muscle atrophy: Muscles in his arms and legs are weakening, and he’s losing control over precise movements.
Speech issues: He’s having increasing difficulty speaking clearly and forming complete sentences.
Early signs of difficulty swallowing or chewing: This can become life-threatening as the disease progresses.
Emotional and psychological strain: Adam is fully conscious of what’s happening to his body, and he’s experiencing growing fear, sadness, and anxiety due to his declining abilities.
Nature of the disease:
Leukodystrophy is progressive, meaning it gets worse over time unless halted by appropriate treatment.
Because it's rare, treatment options are limited and complex, often involving biological therapies or bone marrow transplants.
