Donate a Cheeseburger or Thickshake for Eddie Matthews (Fast Eddie)

Eddie Matthews was my Uncle and I spent most of my life growing up with him so I have plenty of stories and memories with him.

This fundraiser has been created to help support funeral expenses, wake and catering costs, as well as travel and accommodation expenses for Eddie's family members including his daughter and grandchildren travelling from Adelaide to the South East for the service and other extended family members wishing to attend and pay their respects.

Eddie was a well known local icon who brought smiles to so many people. He'll be remembered for his friendly nature, funny stories, unique character, and the banter he shared with everyone he met. The overwhelming support and kind words from the community show just how much he meant to so many.

There has also been discussion within the community about creating a memorial plaque in Eddie's honour, subject to council approval, as a lasting tribute to a man who left such a positive impact on our town.

Whether it's the cost of a cheeseburger, a thickshake, or any amount you can spare, every contribution will help support Eddie's family and honour his memory. Talking with my Mother/His sister, his daughter/my cousin and grandchildren, they have entrusted me to organise this and put the gofundme money to great use for a proper send off.

Cost's of a traditional burial service are quite expensive these days, ive recently had a quote from south east funeral services for approximately $15,000. Catering costs for afterwards at the wake are normally a couple thousand dollars. Travel expenses and accommodation are quite expensive these days as well especially for the unexpected to happen like this.
