Hi my name is Oraya Rogers and I'm fundraising for a new set of Pastels. I never dreamt I could afford to own a full spectrum of colours on my pallet until now. I am daring to dream.

I have created hundreds of pastel drawings in my life , but I have never owned a complete set of colours. I used to buy 3 or four colours at a time and always drew with the colours that I had available, usually tiny crumbs of chalk I could barely see anymore. I can use up, a couple of sticks of chalk on one A1 picture every time I do a picture.

I am also planning to do a year of pictures in the future and this is part of the plan to create a picture every day for a year. I have only ever used, "Unison Colour Pastels" because of the way the chalks behave, other brands don't melt on the paper the way they do, which is why I only ever had a few new colours at a time because they were always expensive, I would wait for one to run out completely before replacing it, rather than buying a cheaper brand, which was not an option, I would just do without the colours that I really wanted to use. Often I would use a colour that was the next best thing because I didn't have the correct colour and putting up with lack has affected my pictures. I have even been known to save the excess dust from a drawing to use again.

I'm asking that you celebrate my birthday with me and help me to celebrate my creations so that I can continue to be the creative person I was born to be.
