At 4am on August 7, 2020, my Father, Don Hoyt (53) went into sudden cardiac arrest.   My Mother, Lisa realized he was unresponsive and yelled for my brother, Aiden and myself.  Aiden and I lifted him from bed and placed him on the floor.  CPR was immediately started by my Mom, we were without power at the time and only had a flashlight to provide light.  The EMS finally arrived and after working on him they finally found a pulse.  He was transported by ambulance to Hudson Valley Hospital Center. 

Realizing my Father's dire medical condition he was then transferred to Westchester Medical Center where he arrested an additional 3 times during a procedure.   Thankfully the medical staff was able to successfully defibrillate and intubate him with a ventilator to protect his airway.  X-ray images showed that he had 3 broken ribs from the CPR that was administered.  He is now in stable condition and hopes for a speedy recovery. 

Anyone who has ever met my Dad knows that he is one of the most selfless people you would ever meet.  After a lifetime of putting everyone else before himself he needs to  step back and give his body time to  heal.   This means that he is going to be out of work for several months.
