Donald Dinnie Day Gathering VIII Sunday 4th Aug 24

Dear friends in the stone lifting community. We have started work on our 8th annual Donald Dinnie Day Gathering. The last 7 events since 2017 have been amazing and have produced some memorable and truly historic moments. Every year we try and bring in more features and events to grow the event and pay tribute to those who blazed the trail before us and share the history of some of the world’s most famous historic stones. From 2017 to 2022, The Gathering committee has funded the event privately as we had no external income (other than the fantastic prizes and tshirts kindly donated by our sponsors) but we do have a strong drive and passion to see the event grow and continue and have some unavoidable cash bills. We opened a GoFundMe page last year which allowed the stone lifting community to support our work and it was a great success for all concerned. We have opened a GoFundMe account for this year (link below) and are sharing it via the website and our social media etc. Our target is to raise £1,800 by the end of June 2024. 100% of all funding received will go towards running the event and monies left from last year will be added to the fund. The Gathering is an important event which keeps alive the traditions of old and we really want to ensure that it keeps going. As a community we have the power to work together to achieve that.
