Donald Bonds life saving liver transplant
Donation protected
Thank you for taking a moment to read about what is going on with our Dad, Donald Bond.
As some of you may know our Dad, Donald Bond – an amazing Husband, Father, Step-Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend – his health has gone down hill very quickly in the last couple of months and we've recently been given a heartbreaking prognosis:
It has been projected that he will require a liver transplant within 3-6 months, and he is currently in liver failure. He is expected to be placed on the waiting list for a liver donation as soon as possible and following that a hopeful transplant at the University of Kentucky. We are optimistic that we will be able to find a donor quickly and he will be able to live a long healthy life with us well beyond what the doctors believe his current timeline is.
Our Dad is always and has always been a giant heartfelt teddy bear, and we love him for it – seeing him in the state he’s in has been an extremely hard sight to see. If you know him, you know he’s tough as nails and usually doesn’t show when he’s in pain. He’s made it through many hardships in his life and we’re confident he will fight, but he really needs this transplant – it could mean everything for him and our family.
On top of all this, he’s been out of work for almost a month. Luckily, he has an awesome job and had enough paid time off to cover his hospital stay so far, but that’s running out. He’s still supporting my mom, Kim, and our 15-year-old brother, Dalton, and the medical bills are already starting to stack up. Plus, he’ll be moving from Morristown-Hamblen Hospital to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in the next few days, which will add to expenses. We’re hoping to raise enough so that Mom and Dad can stick together while we navigate this next chapter of his health journey.
We kindly ask you to please consider contributing as you are able, and to keep our father, Donald Bond, and our family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your support. We are praying for a miracle.
The loving children of Donald and Kim Bond
