Donald & Joyce Kiefert Emergency Transition Fund

Donation protected
My father, Donald Bradley Kiefert, Sr, was unfortunately injured and subsequently passed away from injuries sustained when his house burned down on December 24, 2018.  Thankfully, his wife, Joyce and stepson, Steve, survived the incident. Their house is completely destroyed.

The three of them returned to their house on the fateful evening and discovered the fire once they were inside. We are not 100% sure of the details of what exactly transpired, but the City of Sacramento Fire Department informed us that the fire most likely started in the area of the hot water heater. Knowing my father, we are speculating that he either was attempting to stop the fire or trying to rescue his dogs...or both.

My father was born in 1937, served in the USAF for a few years, then spent the majority of his working life as DoD civilian employee at McClellan AFB. He met my mother while on active duty, had three children, Brad, Sheila, and I.  He was a grandfather to eleven grandchildren...all of whom he loved and cared for dearly. He was the kind of person that lived for helping others, family members and beyond.

The funds will be used for assisting with expenses related to the clean up and securing of his property, funeral expenses, as well as expenses related to assisting his spouse with her transition to her new living arrangements.
