South Australian Hockey players are in danger of missing out on the opportunity to compete at the elite level.
The national Australian Hockey Championships known as the Australian Hockey League (AHL) has undergone a transformation and from 2019 will be rebranded and renamed with team participation agreements due to be signed by 26 March 2019.
The new format will be a home and away series which promises to be entertaining, engaging and vibrant! A great concept, with broadcast arrangements for all matches in place with Fox Sports and the new sport streaming service Kayo.
The aim is to create a product that will engage fans and drive participation with up to 3 double header matches being played in Adelaide.
Participation in AHL is vital for our talented South Australian male and female athletes, ensuring we give them every opportunity to work towards Australian selection and give hockey fans the chance to watch SA's best in action.
Players at the AHL level in SA are not professionally paid athletes, it is a huge commitment for our state’s top players to commit the required time to participate in our sport at the highest level.
To be part of the new competition we need to raise $100,000, donate what you can and share in the future of Hockey in SA.
