Don't Go Goters

Hi everyone, I have a BOLD prayer and a BOLD request to go along with it! God has laid it on my heart that the best place for the Goters is here. Robin is losing his short term memory and without the ability to create new memories how is moving to a new house in a new state going to effect him? This is going to add even more stress to Maria that mixed with her MS is just going to add another entire level to all of this. I know this sounds crazy but our God is BIG and He can do BIG things. So here we go! Please prayerfully share this campaign far and wide! With God on our side we can do all things! Lets blow this up!! #RalleyforRobin #DontGoGoters
I am writing on behalf of my dearest friend Maria and her family. Recently her husband has been having medical issues. They noticed some slight issues with his memory, so they made a few appointments to get some tests done. During this period of time he was still working and things seemed to be okay. Unfortunately, he was recently laid off from his job and within those few short weeks his health has declined greatly. They have not received a full diagnosis yet but as of right now it is looking like early onset dementia. He is only 58 years old. Just today he visited with his brother and was laughing having a great time but tonight he has no memory of that visit. The doctors have taken away his driving privileges and he can’t be left alone. He can no longer work.
Maria is one of the nicest people I know! She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Just a few months ago she saw a post on facebook from a stranger that said she didn’t want to live anymore and without skipping a beat she sent her a message and started meeting with her weekly. That is who Maria is! Another important fact about Maria is that she has Multiple Sclerosis. She tries her hardest to not let that hold her back but sometimes she has bad days. She will light up a room with the joy and hope that lives inside her, but this is breaking her and it breaks my heart. She is my person and I want to do anything I can to help her.
Maria and Robin have three girls. Their oldest, Goldie, is 21 and works full time at Orange Theory. Their middle daughter, Marina will be 18 this month. She will be a senior in high school and is looking forward to becoming the Editor and Chief of the school newspaper. Their youngest daughter, Campbell is 16 and an amazing dancer. They are all amazing young girls!
With this diagnosis and his declining health Robin will not be able to return to work. Maria can not work with her MS. This is leaving them with an extremely hard dilemma. They have enough money to last about three months in their house, so this is an urgent request. The only path they have right now would be to sell the house they have been living in for the past 14 years and use the money to buy a cheaper house in Kansas.
This is breaking my heart for so many reasons. The first reason is selfish because she is my person and they are family to us. My feelings aside, this is the house that Robin has been living in for the past 14 years. A lot of his core memories are in this house and without the ability to make new memories where does that leave him? Will Maria be able to handle explaining everything to him repeatedly each day in a new environment? Also, their girl’s lives are here in Colorado. My husband and I have offered our basement to the two older girls so they can continue living here and Marina can finish her senior year. They have agreed but now their family will be split in two. How are these girls going to be able to concentrate on their lives while their Dad’s health is declining in another state? Also, it breaks my heart that Maria will have to miss her daughter’s senior year.
This whole situation is horrible. I am writing to you in hopes that you will read this and help this amazing family pay off their house. I know that Maria would do the same for me or anyone in need. Her heart is huge, and she deserves to be taken care of. We need a miracle! Please help us!
