Don's Emergency Bypass Surgery

On Valentine’s Day morning Don suffered a sudden and unexpected heart attack.  After being transported by ambulance to the hospital he received a stent to alleviate the 100% blockage on the right side of his heart.  At the same time we also learned he had major blockages across a number of places around his heart and would need Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting surgery. 

The surgery was successful and he’s now on the long road of recovery but he and his family need some help.  The cost of major open heart surgery and 10+ days in the hospital is extremely high, even with insurance.  Couple this with the fact that Don can no longer work the job he had, delivering fresh food around the Philadelphia area as part of his son Jared’s business, Simply Good Jars.  Don enjoys working and especially enjoys working for Simply Good Jars, a growing business that means a lot to him.  This surgery has forced him into an unexpected retirement and has left him and the family in the unfortunate position of carrying on despite losing steady income.
