On Thursday, March 25th, I received the call that every parent, child, and friend has nightmares about. My dad was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann from his place of work due to high blood pressure, pain in his neck, dizziness, loss of hearing, and nausea. My dad had a seizure upon arrival and another in the MRI machine. The doctors were able to identify that my dad’s brain had an active bleed. The doctors had to place an emergency catheter in his head to drain the bleeding and relieve his cranial pressure. The catheter is still actively draining fluids today. After a successful angiogram, the doctors stated he had a ruptured brain aneurysm with a total of 3 brain aneurysms. There was a 50% chance that my dad wouldn’t survive. Most people who have an aneurysm don’t even make it to the hospital for treatment. The doctors were able to coil the aneurysms and now he is under close observation in the Neuro ICU where he has been staying for a week now. My dad is, unfortunately, not out of the woods at this moment. It is unclear when he will be able to leave the Neuro ICU. The funds we graciously receive will go towards all his bills to help keep my family afloat during this unprecedented and anxiety-producing time. We, as a family, give our utmost appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and EMTs who have helped and are helping keep my dad in the fight for his life. Thank you for reading and donating what you are able to, to help my dad and family. We express our utmost gratitude to you all. Please continue to pray and keep my dad in your thoughts.
