Don was in a serious motorcycle/truck accident. He is stranded in a hospital in Nicoya, Costa Rica. He needs to be transported to a different facility so his fractured hip, shoulder, ankle, and other issues can be addressed. There are deposits that are needed in order for him to be admitted to the facility that he needs to be in right now. As soon as his condition stabilizes, he will be transported to the VA facility in Colorado.
For those of you who don't know Walter and Linda Borntrager, we are USA friends of Don. Walter and Don both have roots in Montana and have maintained their friendship over the years. He usually spends some time with us here in Oregon when he visits the states in the summer. We have one of his bikes stored here in our garage. Right now we are exploring options for his flight back to Denver. It is our goal and objective to be as helpful as we can be in assisting Don's move forward after incurring all the physical and emotional issues from this motorcycle accident.
We want everyone to know that all the money that you have so generously donated will be placed in Don's bank account and used by him as needed for expenses related to his medical issues. He is recovering from his surgery and hopeful that he will soon be well enough to fly to Denver and continue medical care at the VA facility there. He continues to be optimistic about his recovery and knows that rehab is going to be a huge part of that recovery! Thank you again from us and from Don for all your support!
