On Friday, June 3rd, Don Richards wasn’t feeling well, was having difficulty walking and knew something wasn’t right. His wife, Kim, and daughters, Cheryl Hanks and Samantha Montes, got him to the ER where they quickly discovered he had suffered several mini strokes and one larger stroke. He was admitted and was being watched closely when sometime between Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th, he suffered yet another stroke. He unfortunately lost function of the right side of his body. Unable to use his right hand, stand, walk, sit upright due to the pressure to his brain and his speech is slurred and labored. It is exhausting for him just to say just a few words and if you know Don and his quick wit, that says a lot! He has a long road of occupational and physical therapy to hopefully regain use of his limbs again. Don owns his own business, Moonlite Plumbing, and doesn’t have any employees to help while he is unable to work. If you know Don, you know he is one of the kindest, funniest and most genuine men around. He would give you the shirt off his back in a heartbeat and tell you a hilarious story while doing so! He has always offered plumbing services to those in need no matter what the job or their financial status. He’s always been fair and generous with his customers. Right now the future is uncertain and bills are already starting to pile up. It is unknown if, and when, he will be able to leave the hospital and he will most likely have to spend time in a rehab facility before ultimately going home. We are praying he will be able to work again, but at this time that is an unknown. If you are able to help in any way it would mean the world to him and his family. We know times are tough for all so whether you can financially help or not, please keep him in your prayers!
Don is strong and a fighter and we know he will get through this. Thank you!
**I am Charity Falasca. Don is like a second father to me as his daughter, Cheryl, and I have been best friends since we were 7 years old. Any and all proceeds from this GoFundMe will go directly to Kim and Don for household bills and medical care.
