HELP BRING DON RAMÓN’S BACK TO LIFE – WE’RE ALMOST THERE!

Since March 2023, when we served our final meals to joyful (and tearful) guests at our beloved 11th Street location, not a day has passed without someone asking: When is Don Ramón’s coming back?
Well… the answer is: SOON – with your help.
Like many others, we were hit hard by the pandemic. And yes — we owned that building. It had been in our family for decades. But after tenants stopped paying rent our financial situation grew dire.
Unable to secure conventional financing in the wake of the pandemic, we were forced to turn to a predatory lender who offered funds at sky-high interest rates. As sales declined, those payments became impossible to keep up with. Despite our best efforts, we lost the building — a cornerstone of our family’s legacy — and ended up tenants in what used to be our own home.
While all this was unfolding, Lee’s husband, Jose, also became seriously ill. The emotional and financial toll was overwhelming. And when it was finally time to walk away from the building our family had poured so much into, it broke our hearts.
BUT HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS.
We’ve found a new home — a beautiful corner space in Embarcadero 4, with sweeping glass walls, views of a lush park on one side, and the energy of San Francisco’s Financial District on the other. It has indoor/outdoor seating, easy access to transit, and it’s just steps from the Ferry Plaza.
With the help of family friend and seasoned restaurateur Greg Bronstein — who’s opened over 60 Mexican restaurants around the world — many of the interior upgrades are already done. We’re just 8 weeks from construction and reopening shortly after. All we need now is one final push.
Here’s where YOU come in.
We’re asking you to donate what you can today and help spread the word. Every dollar brings us closer to restoring Don Ramón’s — a family-run, community-rooted restaurant designated a San Francisco Legacy Business.
Your support helps us rewrite the ending of this story — not with loss, but with renewal. Not with closure, but with a comeback.
San Francisco needs Don Ramón’s — and Don Ramón’s needs YOU.
Please donate today and be a part of this next chapter.
Muchas gracias – we can’t wait to welcome you back!
