On the night of December 3rd, my Dad had a heart attack and went into cardiac arrest at home. My Mom quickly sprung into action and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. He was cardioverted 4 times and went into surgery that night at John C. Lincoln Hospital. He has remained in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit since. The CT after surgery showed an Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM).
He has experienced a few setbacks throughout his stay and unfortunately was unable to be extubated. He had a tracheostomy placed December 17th. He has been in the CVICU for almost 3 weeks now and my Mom, brother and I have taken a leave of absence from work to constantly be by my Dad's side. Our dad will have another heart surgery this week as well as the eventual transfer to a different hospital to focus on the rehabilitiation.
We know that the medical bills are going to start coming in and we are hopeful that this GoFundMe page will help our parents get through this extremely hard time. We changed the goal, as we know that $1000 is not going to cover their medical bills, but every little bit helps, and we are appreciative for every donation received.
