Hello All,
Last Saturday my family gathered to celebrate my niece’s Quinceañera, our family spend many months getting ready to celebrate the special occasion. Unfortunately, our weekend did not go as expected. What we thought would be a weekend full of joy and happiness shattered before my eyes after the party. My father-Salvador Lopez suffered a stroke. I thank God that he is with us today but has been left with deficits from the stroke. His speech and right side of his body is impaired. We are thankful he is stable now but there is a long road ahead of us for recovery. We are desperate to get him into an acute rehab program to provide him with the physical, occupational and speech therapies he very much needs to get a head start. Unfortunately, my father is uninsured making this situation that much more difficult for our family. In order to get him into a rehab program we must pay out of pocket. We are thankful to have the opportunity to work on his recovery. My father has proven once again to be a fighter and is highly motivated to recover but we must get him to the appropriate level of care.
As many of you know my family sells Elotes and Tacos at Foster Beach-La Playa Concession. My father’s passion is to sell Elotes. Without a doubt he’s the most hardworking man that I know. My parents have sold food on the streets of Chicago their whole lives. Laying in this bed without work is painful for him, I see it in my father’s eyes. Please help me get him back on his feet!
Today more than ever we are heartbroken and are in desperate need of help. If you can spare even a couple of dollars we are forever grateful. God bless you.
