Don Bigelow Celebration of Life
Don Bigelow was one of a kind. He was a giving and dedicated soul to his community, family, and friends. Don impacted the lives of hundreds nationwide through his passions of surfing, art, and photography but even more so by truly living the aloha spirit always extending a helping hand to those in need. Since childhood, Don had an immense love for the ocean and surfing gave him opportunities to be actively involved with organizations such as; The Mauli Ola Foundation, A Walk on Water, Project Save Our Surf, summer surf camps, and so many more donating his time, mentoring the youth, and building everlasting bonds. Don and his family were members of the Hawaiian Surf Club of San Onofre for years, where many endless summers were spent making timeless memories. Don blessed many with his custom Divinity Surfboards, which he often shaped for charities and passed along to kids from the west to east coasts keeping their stoke alive. He passionately shared his love for Jesus and always had the best intentions for others by loving thy neighbor just as He loves us. A dear friend of his gave him the Hawai'ian name "Kū Ha'aheo," which means "to stand tall or stand proud," and that's exactly who Don Bigelow was and how he will forever be remembered.
Funds from this page will go towards celebrating the life of Don in a traditional Hawaiian paddle-out ceremony held at the Northside Huntington Beach Pier.
On behalf of Brigette, Aubrie, Dawnnie, Conrad, Cindy Bigelow, and Ashlee Whisnant we thank you for your kindness and generosity. Don is whole-heartedly missed and we hope you all hold tight to the fond memories you shared with him. Heaven gained another fearless angel that is shining down upon us and surfing in the Lord's paradise.
Paddle Out Ceremony Details:
Saturday, August 21st at 9 am Northside Huntington Beach Pier
Potluck and memory sharing immediately following the paddle-out ceremony. Please bring a dish or dessert to share.
If you own a Divinity Surfboard, bring it to use. We would love to see as many Divinity boards as possible to take a group photo in his memory.
We look forward to sharing the aloha spirit with all of you and celebrating Don's unforgettable life.
