Hi everyone. My name is Joslyn Laney and I am creating this fundraiser in addition to a benefit dance/auction in October for my parents Don and Cheryl Lajoie. If you didn’t know, my dad has been battling heart issues for awhile, which resulted in a 5-way bypass in March 2023. While the surgery was successful in being complete, the doctors did inform us in July that the surgery did not work to improve the functionality of my dads heart leaving us with no other options. For the foreseeable future, my dad has limited work options, which is going to financially hurt in every day life, monthly bills or anything unexpected leading and preparing for winter months. Cheryl also has been battling health concerns with finding out recently of three brain tumors in her brain. As of mid August, she did have one tumor removed from the third ventricle, which had been blocking the flow of spinal fluid from the brain to the spine and was successful but has left her out of work for at least 6-8 weeks and barely enough of a paycheck just to cover their health insurance. Once past the period of recovery from her first surgery, doctors will then work on continuing to monitor the other two tumors and plan out the best next course of treatment. My goal is to help raise money, along with anyone looking to contribute to their benefit dance/auction for end of October, to help my parents thru this hard time and make things less stressful during recovery until they can get back on their feet.
