My wife Laura and I would like to raise funds to help our brother Donald Albert and his family recover from a house fire.

Don, his wife Ruth, and their daughter Jacqueline were displaced from their home on Thursday, August 11th, when lightning struck their home, causing an electrical fire. The house was deemed a total loss.

Don, who was home alone at the time, checked around the house after smelling smoke coming from the basement. After discovering flames coming from a corner of the laundry room, he tried to extinguish them, but realized that the fire had spread. He then immediately called 911 from his cell phone. Firefighters from four departments ended up extinguishing the fire several hours later. One Pawcatuck firefighter was treated for a leg injury and possible smoke inhalation. Praise the Lord that noone was seriously injured.

This fund would be used towards replacing what was lost, including clothing, personal, household items. and also rebuilding the home's interior.
