Hello everyone,

As many of you probably know, I have for many years, off and on, been working my way through the "World Marathon Majors" series of 6 of the world's biggest marathons. After several years of trying, I have managed to secure a place in the Tokyo Marathon, which will complete the series.

I have obtained a charity place via Care International (Care International) . I chose this charity, from a choice of 39, as their mission - of helping people (in particular women and children) in war zones and disaster zones around the world, including Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan and Myanmar - really struck a chord. I am pleased to contribute to helping those in the most dire need, with such a wide global spread.

Because of the vagaries of the marathon charity system I must pay the donation directly from my own account in August 2025, so any money raised on this site will come to me rather than to the charity, but of course any and all funds I do raise here (even if above my target) will be forwarded on.
