Dom's Eye Procedure
Donation protected
As many of you may know, Dom has been receiving treatment over the last few years in Boston for his eye disease, Keratoconus.
It was determined at his last appointment in September that his disease has progressed to the point of needing more serious intervention. Dom needs to have a surgical procedure on his left eye called "corneal cross-linking". This is a highly specialized procedure that involves Riboflavin drops and specialized LED lights. The goal of this procedure is to prevent Dom from needing a corneal transplant. Currently, corneal transplants are major surgeries that need to be repeated every 10-15 years. We would very much like to avoid that!
The estimate for having cross-linking done on Dom's left eye is $10,000. The drug used in the procedure is $4,050.00 all by itself!
We are asking all friends who have enjoyed Dom’s quirky humor, his incessant questions, and his love of life, to help cover the necessary treatment to keep those eyes bright and beautiful!
