Dear Family, Friends and animal lovers,

Wednesday afternoon, I had taken Domino to a veterinary specialty hospital in San Marcos since my previous visits to my veterinarian failed because they could not determine what was causing Domino's severe weight loss and loss of appetite. After a bunch of testing ( bloodwork and x-rays) and medication that was prescribed, nothing seemed to be working and Domino was losing more weight.

My worst nightmare was here, after a bunch of tests (GI testing) and imaging ( ultrasound)it was determined that she has a huge mass around her liver. At this point, they are unsure if it’s a benign tumor or cancer. They won’t know until they open her up and perform more diagnoses such as biopsies that will cost between $400-$800 and imaging needed such as a CT scan, which can cost $1,500 to $3,500 just to start. Surgery is my only hope of saving Domino because I’m not ready to say goodbye nor am I willing to give up. The cost of such a surgery is extensive and I’ve never been the one to ask for help but here I am asking because I can’t let $ get in the way of giving Domino a chance, she at least deserves a fighting chance.

This has been difficult news to process indefinitely. Domino is my day one, from active hikes/walks to even just lounging around like lazy Sunday mornings, she has always been by my side through all my life’s hardships and triumphs. Domino is my best friend, if she could be there for me when times were challenging then so can I in her time of need. Any support, prayer and thoughts are greatly appreciated as we navigate through this difficult journey.
