Help with Dominique's Medical Treatments

My name is Dominique Chavez, a 24 year old college nursing student who works at the Portales Rural Health Clinic and Hospital. I tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in November of 2020. Due to the COVID virus, I have suffered serious health complications. I was a healthy 23 year old, but now I require oxygen 24/7 and must now take numerous strong medications and breathing treatments daily. I have seen several doctors, specialists, and surgeons, all telling me there is nothing that can be done due to the severity of the damage to my lungs and other organs. I was told it may not be reversible. Myself and my family were told that my current condition could be life long and that I may possibly require transplants. Covid-19 has affected my life in the following ways. I had to quit nursing school, I was out of work very ill for 2 ½ to 3months. The doctors recommend that I seek medical services out of the state of New Mexico, due to limited resources in our state, to treat my current post covid health issues. We have been told by the doctors that my medical treatments will be ongoing. By assisting me with your generous donations will help with my financial hardships. I am currently struggling because I was out of work for 2 ½ to 3 months without pay. I am currently on FMLA and the time I have been out due to treatment and or illness is without pay. I am responsible for the following expenses, travel and lodging, unfortunately I am also responsible to pay out of pocket for all medical expenses due to the denial by insurance. I will be losing my medical insurance in September of 2021 due to no longer being a college student.

Unfortunately I was also involved in a motor vehicle accident in July of 2021 after the accident, I was airlifted to a trauma hospital in texas, due to no feeling or sensation in my left leg, with possible spinal and brain injury. However due to the accident I am still not able to feel my left leg or walk anymore. I have undergone acute rehabilitation and therapy in Albuquerque NM, now I am currently in a wheelchair unable to walk and still no feeling in my left leg.

The road to recovery may be a very long time due to my current circumstances. Doctors and specialists are still not sure if this is going to be long term or permanent.

Also, now I suffer from severe anxiety, nightmares that sometimes prevent me from sleeping at night. This has not only taken a toll on me physically, emotionally, but also financially.
