Dominic’s Boston Medical Fund

Hi Everyone I am Justine, Dominic’s Mom.

My son Dominic has for the past two years has been struggling with SEVERE mental health problems. We have seen every doctor we can and finally got him stable late last year. Over the course of this past month or two Dom has had a relapse in symptoms and his current providers are at a loss and don’t know how else to treat because of his age and symptoms.

I was able to find a specialist at Boston Childrens who is willing to evaluate and possibly take Dominic on as a patient. I snagged the appointment for the end of May as his situation is becoming increasingly unsafe and could lead to another hospitalization. We have just had to pull Dominic out of school for the remainder of the year.

My husband and I both work full time and have two other children. I have exhausted all my PTO from work to handle Dominic’s care. We have gone into debt tying to make it to every appointment and missing work to ensure he is safe if he has trouble at school. We are not in a position to finance this trip but we have to as we are running out of options.

We as a family are asking for donations to aid in the travel expense and possibly additional costs if he has to stay longer or if I have to cut down to part time to manage his care. There will be a spaghetti charity dinner at Brighton Heights Lutheran Church on Saturday May 17 from 12pm-5pm if you would like to come and donate or just support Dominic. Dominic is a kind, loving, sweet funny athletic kid and if you know anything about him he’s the most resilient, hardworking child you’ve probably ever met. I know he can get past this and survive this, it’s just a matter of how.
