Who we are...
Dominican Delights has been a local Eugene-based small food business for over 5 years. We are proud to say that our handmade empanadas have maintained a 5-star rating since 2014 ! (click link to visit our FB business page)
We operate mainly through the Lane County Farmers Market. We are considered a staple by patrons and often sell out of empanadas by the end of any given market.
In addition to our solid customer base, we have strategically nurtured local business and city partnerships to position us for growth opportunities as we expand our operation.
What are we raising money for?
We are raising money to help fund the build-out of a Dominican Delights Food Cart. We strongly believe that adding a food cart to our operations will increase sales and help to grow our brand. We currently have half of the funds secured for the build-out and are utilizing both crowd-sourcing and donation requests for the other half.
Specifically, we will use the funds to:
- purchase a 6' x 12' enclosed cargo trailer
- purchase building materials to convert the trailer into a Class 3 Cart
- purchase one generator so we can serve empanadas off of the grid!
- build and launch an official Dominican Delights website and online store
Why should you donate?
A Dominican Delights food cart will impress and please the palates of patrons. This is true. It doesn't stop there though. Your donations will help fund the creation of a food business that invests in the very community that sustains it. A portion of our monthly net sales will be put aside for investing in local programs that: encourage entrepreneurship, community service, and mentorship.
When do we need the funds?
It is our goal to have the money raised by the end of September. With most of the kitchen equipment already purchased, we estimate having the cart ready by the middle of October. Just in time for the rainy season!
What your support means to me...
We've dreamed of selling food from a food cart for a long time now. It's just over the horizon and we can smell those empanadas baking! We've been working hard, consistently; with a deep love and passion for what we do. After 5 years, the efforts are paying off in the form of an outstandingly supportive community. Priceless.
