Dominic Nejedlo was born on January 25th, 2015 in Milwaukee, WI to proud parents Jessica (Podnar) and Bob Nejedlo. These first time parents immediately fell in love with their little Dominic.

Early on during Jess's pregnancy, she received news that Dominic would be born with a CHD (congenital heart defect) known as HLHS (hypoplastic left heart syndrome).

Dominic had his first (The Norwood) of three open heart surgeries on Monday February 2, 2015. Doctors worked on his small heart for more than 6 hours.

The "Dominator" as he was nicknamed worked hard to recover from his first surgery. Jess and Bob would tell you that there were many ups and downs. All along, the Dominator's strength and perserverence were inspiring to all.
A little more than 2 months after his first open heart surgery, Dominic's doctors felt like Dominic was in need of his second open heart surgery. At 10 weeks old, on April 9th, 2015, baby Dominic underwent his second open heart surgery (The Glenn).
The Dominator is currently recovering at Milwaukee's Children's Hospital.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Dominic, and during this time, I heard Jess talk about having to go back to work. She was going to have to go back to work (as an educator) to keep her insurance. At that time they were hopeful that Dominic would also be at home (Little Chute, WI), and they had a plan organized for caretakers (grandparents) while Jess and Bob were at work. Jess sounded a bit stressed about having to go back to work, but they had a plan in place.
However, Dominic never got to the point in which the doctors felt comfortable sending him home. In fact, they said that he would be in Milwaukee through his second surgery and recovery. This meant that Jess and Bob had to make a tough decision for Jess to either go back to work and keep their insurance or to stay in Milwaukee and pay for insurance. They decided she would stay in Milwakee with Dominic and not go back to work for the remainder of the school year.
This means major expenses. Months of having to pay for high quality insurance along with months of Jess not working. Along with every day expenses of food and Bob constantly driving to and from Milwaukee.
I can tell you that Jess and Bob (and their families) have been blown away by the thoughts, prayers, and generosity of their family, friends, and random strangers. Let's continue to blow them away by raising all of the money they need! Wouldn't it be awesome if Jess and Bob could just worry about Dominic and not have to worry about how they are going to pay for the next bill?
Join team Dominator and let's do everything we can to help Jess, Bob, and Dom!
