Our next fight for Dominic starts now...
For almost three years, our little boy Dominic has been fighting a battle no child should ever have to face.
Dominic was diagnosed with an Optic Pathway Glioma (BRAF fusion) — a rare brain tumour affecting the optic nerve — as well as hydrocephalus, a condition caused by a build-up of fluid on the brain.
At just three years old, he has endured more than most people will in a lifetime. Brain surgeries, biopsies, chemotherapy, shunt revisions, blood transfusions, countless scans, hospital stays, ambulance rides, infections, months of recovery, and three devastating tumour relapses.
Every time we thought we had finally turned a corner, his tumour found a way to keep fighting.
Recently we received the news every parent dreads. Dominic’s tumour has grown again.
After exhausting multiple treatment options in the UK, we are now looking beyond our borders in search of the treatment he urgently needs. We have managed to secure access to specialist oncology care in Latvia, where doctors will review his case and help us explore targeted therapies that could give him a chance at a better future.
While the medical care itself may be available, the reality is that getting there and staying there is not free.
We need help covering travel costs, accommodation, transport between hospitals, medical appointments, documentation, food and all the unexpected expenses that come with moving a medically complex child between countries for treatment.
As Dominic’s mum, I have promised him I will never stop fighting for him. But I can’t do this alone.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps us take one step closer to getting Dominic the treatment he deserves. If you cannot donate, sharing our story means just as much.
Thank you for standing beside our family during the hardest chapter of our lives.
And as long as Dominic keeps fighting, so will we.
