Domestic Violence Moving Funds

Hi everyone,

My name is Graciela and I am here to ask for some help for a good friend of mine and fellow Wayfair employee.

Callena is a great friend and awesome co-worker who has gotten the courage to stand up and speak out about her situation with domestic violence. I am so proud of her for taking this step and reaching out to get the help she needs to get away from her abuser and get her and her kids to safety.

She is reaching out to all available resources to help her and her kids move away from this situation. She now has a case worker who is on her side and helping her to try to find housing.

As we all know, it's been a difficult few years with COVID and of course it's the holidays but I am reaching out to all of you to see if you might be able to help get her some extra funds to cover moving costs that the Domestic Violence Grant she qualifies for won't or can't cover.

She has done a great job of applying for housing and she is waiting to hear back on 2 places and is currently applying for more. Each application has a fee and if she gets approved for a place, the grant will cover what it can and then she has to come up with the rest out of pocket. Her family is helping with what they can but first, last and deposits are a big lump sum to cover along with getting a U-Haul.

If you are able to donate even a $1 towards this brave woman who is standing up for herself, her kids and speaking out to encourage others to stand up against their abusers, I would so appreciate it.
