Dom

My name is Alex and although in the early days I was someone who just read (and was a big fan of) Dom's writing in various publications, he has had the misfortune to become a good friend of mine over the years. I'm still a big fan of his writing for Metal Hammer, Prog Magazine and Blabbermouth as well as his regular cluttering of the airwaves with his noise and very limited chat between songs on the always excellent Dompilation Tapes radio show. As with most freelancers, being unable to work for a while is financially ruinous and the silly bastard went and had a heart attack at the weekend. He was feeling particularly unwell on the Saturday at Bloodstock Festival but like a true metalhead lifer he carried on inhaling the bands and the atmosphere and then on the Sunday the marvellous medical team at Bloodstock insisted on taking him to hospital. Well spotted Bloodstock medical team! He's very bored in hospital and they're going to do bypass surgery and he will be forced to do lots of resting and recuperating for weeks if not months. I love this silly fucker and it will be terrible if he ended up amassing a load of debt because of his illness and if, like me, he has given you any kind of joy or pleasure over the years from his writing in magazines, his video blogs for Hammer, his radio shows or by giving you hand relief in a car park, - please bung the price of a pint* his way so that he can afford his rent - otherwise he's going to have to come and live with me and I don't want that and nor does he. (*Preferably the price of a pint at one of those lovely ale houses in Norway i.e. £15). I should add that he hasn't asked me to do this and will probably think it's very cringe, but his better half is very sensible and I asked her and she said okay! All funds will be transferred directly to his good lady, Charlotte, who many of you may know. She's got a lot to sort right now so I'm sorting this.
