My name is Reef Murfet.
I’m 23 years old, born in Launceston, and I’ve been coming to Dolphin Sands every year since I was born, so it’s heartbreaking to see the impact the recent bushfires have had on this place and the people who call it home.
On New Year’s Eve, I’ll be taking on a huge personal challenge by running 100km to help raise funds for those affected. I’ll be running from the river mouth to Swansea and back three times to reach the distance, and while it will take most of the day and push me well outside my comfort zone, it’s all for a cause that truly matters. My hope is to make a positive difference and support members of our wider Dolphin Sands community during this devastating time.
Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to me. If you’d like to join in for part of the run or come down to support, please comment below or send me a message.
Thank you so much for your support - so many homes, families, and memories have been impacted and lost.
