Dolores Meaney- Memorial "Don't be sad"
Donation protected
Hi my name is Erin Keymolen and I am the eldest of my moms 5 children. It is with a heavy heart I am setting up this goFundme for my moms cremation and memorial expenses.
On February 29th 2024 our beloved mother, gramma, teacher, and overall great human took her last breath. She had been fighting heart problems, kidney failure, diabetes and multiple infections over the last years. We found out days before her passing that she had an untreatable aggressive cancer that was causing her much pain. She fought so hard to heal over the last two months but the Dr's told us her condition was worsening and she was not a candidate for chemo or dialysis. She was surrounded by all of her family and friends during her last days.
My mom was a special ed school teacher in the Portland Public School district for over 20 years. She loved the outdoors, her pets, her children, grand children and everyone else she met. Even after retirement she stayed in contact with some of her students mentoring them even after high school. She was such a good soul and would never ask anyone for anything. She raised 5 kids and 10 grand children along with all the other neighborhood kids. She would save up all of her money to take us on one of her adventures.
We are hoping to raise enough money to have her cremated her remains put into some memorial pendants for her 5 kids. We want a biodegradable earn so we can honor her final wishes and spread her ashes at Wallowa Lake. We would like to plant a tribute grove of 5-15 trees in my moms honor. We would also like to have a memorial with all of her family and friends and anyone would like to come celebrate a life well lived.
Her last wish was for us to not be sad for her but to keep going like she did when she lost her mom. She wants us to get together and eat and laugh and talk about the good times.
Dolores Ruth Meaney born September 8, 1954 She was a Mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a niece, a friend, a teacher, and the most selfless good hearted human we ever met.
Thank you all for your love and support. We will communicate a memorial date and place soon.
